What about Bob?

Bob McGovern is a journalist living in Boulder, CO. with an unhealthy obsession for sports.

He currently works as the managing editor for the Boulder County Business Report, a business newspaper covering Boulder and Broomfield counties. He writes business-related articles, edits and uses this blog as a way to stay connected with his alma mater while pursuing the sportswriting dream.

Prior to his time at the BCBR, McGovern was a sportswriter for the Express Newspapers – three weekly papers covering Whitman, Hanson and East Bridgewater on the South Shore of Massachusetts. After graduating from UMass in 2005, McGovern worked as an editorial intern with Irish America Magazine where he wrote a cover story on Tom Brady in December of 2005.

While at UMass, McGovern worked for the Massachusetts Daily Collegian as a sportswriter and editor. He covered men’s and women’s soccer, men’s and women’s lacrosse, men’s and women’s basketball, men’s and women’s track and crew during his tenure. He graduated with a degree in journalism.

McGovern was also a four-year member of the UMass rugby team. He won the Doc Lawrence Award for leadership after his final season.
