The Good 5 Cent Cigar, the daily student newspaper for the University of Rhode Island, had an article about Thorr Bjorn — the UMass lifer that took over as the Rams’ athletic director.
Sounds like he wants to win … imagine that:
“We want to win,” Bjorn said. “We want to win national championships. We want to win conference championships. Winning is important and at this level it’s very important. We want to win the right way and provide our athletes with a fantastic experience, but anyone who says winning isn’t important isn’t telling the truth.”
Overall a pretty complete article and the first that really gives us a glimpse at how life after UMass is for Bjorn. He’s definitely one of the good guys in college sports, and I hope he continues to succeed.
Just not against UMass.
