According to the Boston Globe, Anthony Gurley, who was once considered one of the best prep shooting guards in the country, is transferring from Wake Forrest to the University of Massachusetts.
It definitely looks like Skip Prosser’s untimely death had a large affect on the 6’3 Gurley. From FOXSports.com:
Gurley said he contemplated leaving after the season ended, but he had a meeting with Skip Prosser and decided to give it another try. However, after Prosser died of a heart attack in July, Gurley wanted to go back home.
“With everything that happened with coach Prosser, it made me realize that I wanted to be closer to my family,” Gurley said. “It’s nothing against the school or anything personal.”

This team’s depth just got tremendous. Travis Ford went out and added a highly touted guard and a large, athletic — but academically questionable — power forward. Hopefully this rash of talent is successful on and off the court.
